A classic skånelänga
The house adjacent to Ranarpskvarns studio is what constitutes a classic ”Skånelänga” - an architectural staple in the Swedish countryside. The skånelänga consists of three houses, together making a u-shape, meant to shield from the sharp winds of the ocean and the flat landscape. This way of building houses is also very common in Denmark.
Ranarpskvarn is directly overlooking wild pastures, the Skåneleden hike trail and the atlantic ocean. This is a magical part of Sweden, where sunsets change colors every night, and the changing colors of nature follows the cycles of our seasons.
The studio’s accomodation is a newly renovated red villa with 4 bedrooms, 8 bed spaces and a colorful interior design. Adjacent to the house is a lush, private garden with a little trail which takes you to the ocean - by first going through an enchanted forest, crossing two ponds and a meadow.

Food & Drink
For events we cater food from the local restaurant Gardener’s close to Båstad, a kitchen that grows produce and cooks food with a passion. We get our strawberries from our neighbour Markus - who grows some of the best strawberries in Sweden - and our apple juice from the local apple juicery.
Going local is a theme, in other words, at Ranarpskvarn, and we do think that this national pantry that is Bjärehalvön has some of the best foods, perhaps, in Northern Europe.
